The Djiboutian government condemned media attacks in Somalia.


In a demonstrating statement issued by the office of Djiboutian government ministry of interior affairs has sharply condemned an attempted assault against senior Somali journalist Mohamed Ali Nuxurkey who confronted repeated threats in his country.

"Partially we express our sadness of this ordeal particularly the last attempted to assassinate journalist Mohamed said Yasiin Elmi Djibouti’s interior ministry.

I think this has relations with his deepening record in the rule of democracy, peace, and freedom added the minister.

The journalist had come under threat following his stories to channel Islamist imposition and remarks on 3 may 2010 for the celebrations of international press freedom day.

in 2007 he face such threats after reporting from a hostage situation in which students at high school held captive by Islamist militias as reporter for (Horn-Afrik) radio stationed in Mogadishu the capital of Somalia.

Some of his most renowned stories from a coverage of Somali’s brutal ongoing conflict, include his eye witnesses of now notorious deadly bombing at Shamo hotel in December 2009, where countless students, ministers, and 3 fellow journalists who were killed.
