Two clans fighting over arid land in the centre of Somalia
Ba’adweyn town in Mudug region in the centre of Somalia has been a front-line for two parts of opposing clannish militias over the control of it. Suleiman clan of Habergdir and Qubeys Clan of Dirr have been engaged in bloody and clannish clashes which claimed the lives of many people including the warring fighters and innocent civilians and caused widespread human displacement.
One part of the rival sides is widely believed to be using its pirates who are strongly armed in an attempt to overrun the other side on its way to claim the last triumph and ownership of the disputed land which isn’t more than 30 km with the other side seems to be defensive and ready to die to the last because land insufficiency it is feeling.
This merciless carnage is going on while there is not a sign of peace mediation in action by the elders of the warring clans as well as neighbouring clans’ intellectuals are not in intention to mediate brotherly tribes at war.
Ahlusuna waljamaa is the only force available in the area that can halt the worthless bloodshed but instead kept watching without a bold plan to move its loyal militias to the area and forcefully intervene the sides in conflict to pave way for peace atmosphere. It is the nature of people in the central Somalia to be at war over land, wells and pasture by failing to get solution to their differences.
The matter is incurable because of wild divergence that the clans in skirmishes have with their neighbors.
Since the wars between the two began, it reached its climax on Wednesday when two have engaged in a fierce fighting what resulted in the death-toll of at least 30 people and left many others wounded. There are no peace signs appearing to be staring and two sides are on their way once again to another round of war
"Many corps collected in the countryside near where the fighting occurred," says one of the eye-witnesses. The report says that the injured were taken to Adado and Galkacyo hospitals for medical treatment.
