Somali Islamist group threatens invasion on Ethiopia

Somalia’s Hezbul Islam Hiran region administration has threatened that the group will invade Ethiopia whose troops are in some parts of the region.

In a news conference held in the regional capital of Beledweyne on Thursday, the group's spokesman for Hiran region, sheik Mohamed Wehlie Odowa, stated that they would attack Ethiopian military units those some times penetrated into Somalia adding that Hizbul Islam had a full support of the population in the region.

These threatening remarks from Hizbul Islam authorities in Hiran region followed as Ethiopean troops have recently been making miliraty movements in the region.

Recently, Ethiopian troops armed in strength reached to Kalabayrka, a strategic crossroad in the vicinity of Beledweyn town and they withdrew after short time of stay there.

It is unknown how Hizbul Islam's threat of invasion on Ethiopian troops can come true amid Somali ahlusuna waljamaa militias have presence in Hiran region with help of Ethiopian army at the border .
